The 8 day mission to Ghana resulted in a medical mission team of 40 health care providers performing a total of 84 joint replacements on 78 patients. In addition to performing the surgical procedures, the Operation Walk team members provided education to local physicians, nurses and physical therapists. Educational material included both the most current evidence-based practice/surgical techniques as well as information to facilitate care of these patients after the team's departure.
