Mission

The mission of Community Farmers Markets is to develop a local food infrastructure for long term sustainability and meaningful community impact. Our purpose is to preserve, root, and grow a diverse local food culture by maintaining an authentic space for all people to share community, fair food, and healthy lifestyles while providing a sustainable living for producers who steward the earth.

About

To increase the availability of local food access through local food distribution outlets in low-income and mixed-income communities that lack access to fresh, healthy, and local foods. We operate five weekly outdoor farmers markets and five weekly fresh Marta markets. The fresh Marta markets are the nation's first transit oriented food access solution, serving fresh food inside transit stations, with over 1/3 of the customers on SNAP (the supplemental nutrition program). These distribution outlets serve over 200,000 mixed income families and provided outlets for 120 low-income farmers annually.
