Mission

Re:Source Cleveland empowers international newcomer families to grow roots, supporting them in becoming engaged, self-sufficient and contributing members of their new communities.

About

Re:Source Cleveland is a Cleveland-based 501(c)(3) founded in 2010 to serve individuals and families in the national refugee resettlement program. As we broadened our reach, our programs came to serve newcomers more broadly. We changed our name to be more inclusive and meet the greater yet still focused need. Our mission: we empower resettled families and individuals to grow roots, supporting them in becoming engaged, self-sufficient, and contributing members of their communities. In 2024, Re:Source Cleveland provided services to over 1,750 individuals from over 12 different nationalities or ethnic identities speaking upwards of 20 languages and dialects, and in 2025 we anticipate serving 2,000 newcomers through our eight unique programs that include: Ohio City Farm, Teen Response, Corner65, Youth Mentoring, Newcomer Navigators, Post Secondary Bridges, Driving Instruction, and Adult Tutoring. Our largest area of programmatic growth is with young people, specifically in Teen Response and Corner65, inside and outside of schools. Re:Source Cleveland has eight programs. Ohio City Farm is a 5-acre urban farm and social enterprise that employs 7 newcomer farmers, serves a 450-member Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), and provides food donations. Youth Mentoring serves 44 youth from 4-8 grades in after-school programming twice that includes one-on-one academic and social-emotional mentoring and group off-site activities. Teen Response provides wrap-around academic and extracurricular support for 400 newcomer high school students in 6 public schools in Parma and Cleveland. Driving Instruction helps newcomers practice, learn, and take their driving licensure tests and access vehicles. Adult Tutoring provides ESL and personal support for 50 adults. Newcomer Navigators is a partnership that helps clients access social services and resources. Post Secondary Bridges serves 150 young adults with post-secondary opportunities focused on careers. Corner65 serves over 200 youth through extracurricular activities such as art, sports, and wellness.
