Supplemental activities, council events and camps benefit our 18,535 girl members. Ohio's Heartland Council offered over 406 separate events/workshops attended by 14,174 girls age 5-17 for the year. 11,700 girls participated in our cookie program, with girls selling just over 2.2 million packages of cookies, resulting in a per girl average of 192 packages. Over 63,000 packages were donated to Operation Salute and delivered to the men and women serving in our military. Over 3,625 girls participated in our fall product program, selling over 80,000 nuts and candy items and over 5,000 magazine subscriptions. Through the product programs, Girl Scouts learned five skills essential to success in life - goal seeking, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
