Community and Summer Programs: EDCIs community and summer programs include the EDCI Summer Lunch program, English as a Second Language classes, bike and book giveaways, and a variety of summer and spring break camps. EDCI also offers year-round out-of-school learning programs to students in grades K-8 in partnership with various education providers throughout the Triangle. EDCI provided summer camp scholarships and opportunities to more than 350 young people and served over 20,490 meals to children and adults as part of the EDCI Summer Lunch program. Students attending any of the three EDCI summer camps made learning gains in literacy. More than 60 students participated in the Youth Leadership Council, a health and youth leadership program. YLC engaged more than 300 community members in health focused programs including mobile markets and taste testings.
