CULTIVATE ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE ORGANIC FOOD FOR OUR COMMUNITY.HUNGER RELIEF - HILLTOP HANOVER'S FARM TO PANTRY PROGRAM HELPED FOOD PANTRIES AND OTHER EMERGENCY FOOD PROGRAMS MAKE FRESH, NUTRITIOUS, LOCALLY GROWN FOOD AVAILABLE TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN NEED. THE FARM SERVED OVER 20 COMMUNITY PARTNERS THROUGHOUT WESTCHESTER, INCLUDING FOOD PANTRIES, SOUP KITCHENS AND SHELTERS. IN LINE WITH OUR MISSION STATEMENT, A MINIMUM 10% OF PRODUCE GROWN IS DONATED. HOWEVER, WE ARE EXCITED TO SAY IT IS OFTEN MUCH MORE. POSITIVE FUTURE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS - IN ADDITION TO OUR FOOD PANTRY DONATION, WE OFFER MANY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ON THE FARM. LAST YEAR A GROUP OF HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WORKED FOR US FOR SEVERAL WEEKS DOING THEIR SENIOR COMMUNITY PROJECT OR INTERNSHIP. IT IS AMAZING TO SEE THE TRANSFORMATION OF THESE WONDERFUL YOUNG PEOPLE, MANY OF WHOM HAVE A NEW RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE HARD WORK OF FARMING. WE KNOW THAT THIS WILL HAVE A LASTING IMPACT ON GENERATIONS TO COME, AS MANY OF THESE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE GOING OFF TO COLLEGE WITH A SENSE OF PURPOSE AND THE DESIRE TO DO GOOD IN THE WORLD. HAVING WORKED IN THE FIELD SIDE BY SIDE WITH OUR FARMERS ON OUR BEAUTIFUL FARM THAT IS IN THE NYC WATERSHED, THEY UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF ORGANIC AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND LIVING PRACTICES.
