Mission

Solana Center for Environmental Innovation's mission is to mobilize the local community to address the region’s most pressing environmental issues and enact impactful change, with a focus on soil, waste, and water.

About

Solana Center, a county-wide resource for environmental education focused on composting, watershed management, and recycling, reached more than 30,000 San Diegans through school assemblies, the San Diego County Fair, composting installations, demonstration site selection and implementation, curriculum development, and community outreach. Our education program trained more than 750 new composters at workshops and five-week courses and answered more than 700 compost related questions over the phone and by email, at the office. Over 12 days, more than 240 students from across the San Diego region visited our eco adventure hands-on, interactive environmental education learning experience at the San Diego County Fair. Solana Center extended our education and information through our quarterly newsletter, ongoing informational emails, website, blog, social media accounts, and media coverage.
