Chicago Symphony Orchestra concerts - during the 2017/18 season, the cso presented 139 paid and free concert programs for approximately 278,000 patrons. The cso premiered three works, including compositions by mead composer-in-residence elizabeth ogonek and cso viola section member max raimi. Two major u.s tours to both the east and west coasts included 17 concerts in 12 cities. The free concert for chicago led by maestro muti at lane technical college preparatory high school on chicago's north side drew a capacity audience of over 2,600 people. Throughout the season, the cso celebrated masterworks by iconic composers, including tchaikovsky, mahler, and bernstein. The orchestra performed three concerts at wheaton college's edman memorial chapel, and 18 concerts at ravinia park as part of the annual summer residency.
