About
Refugee and Immigrant Rights: The Advocates provides legal representation to asylum seekers and immigrants in the Upper Midwest and around the United States. With pro bono assistance from hundreds of attorneys, The Advocates is the primary legal service provider to low-income asylum seekers in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The Advocates has expanded legal services to include services for youth who are victims of labor trafficking. During FY 2019, The Advocates provided pro bono representation and support to over 1,600 asylum seekers, unaccompanied minor immigrants, detained immigrants and survivors of human trafficking. In addition to legal services, the organization advocates for legal reform and works to help better integrate our newest residents into our communities.
