To improve radiological services and related medical care in East Africa, with the ultimate vision of enabling local Tanzanians to provide self-sustaining high quality radiology services to everyone in Tanzania. About
EAMAF purchases and distributes a variety of radiological equipment for use at KCMC and at remote medical facilities staffed by KCMC's assistant medical officer (AMO) graduates, as well as implementing related infrastructure projects at KCMC. This past year EAMAF completed the installation and testing of the digital systems for the radiology department. In addition, through the generosity of a major donor, EAMAF was able to fund the complete remodeling of the radiology department spaces, the construction of a biomedical facility (including biomedical equipment), the purchase of three additional ultrasound units, and the down payments for new CT and MRI machines. These initiatives will significantly enhance the ability of the radiology department and related KCMC departments to provide a broad range of quality radiology services.
