To increase access to high quality CBT, ACT works with state and local health and human service departments to evaluate clinicians who provide mental health services to low income individuals. To assemble and maintain a credentialing and referral system of qualified health care professionals whose qualifications meet the standards set by ACT and who can provide treatment for the public good. The Academy of Cognitive Therapy identified 120 mental health professionals in 2018 as high quality providers of CBT. To support professionals and foster the educational development of health personnel. ACT maintains a directory of CBT trainer consultants. During 2017, the Academy of Cognitive Therapy continued a CBT training initiative and worked with Los Angeles County, California Department of Mental Health to educate 200 clinicians.
