Service dog training and placement: performed at least monthly training and meetings for community and student volunteers including previous service dog recipients. Accepted 7 applications for service dogs placements and began client specific training. Continued training for 5 individuals who had made applications in 2017. Held 3 service dog training classes at West Virginia University in spring, summer, and fall semesters with 150 participating students. Started our first on-line service dog training class open to college students and community members. Provided a service dog training program in collaboration with the federal correctional institute of Morgantown which engaged over 30 inmates. Placed 4 dogs and therapy dogs. Successfully applied with West Virginia University for a wounded warrior service dog grant to place 10 dogs with veterans.
