Head Start: Head Start is an early childhood education program for children ages 3-5. Head Start is based on the idea that children from low income families develop best when education programs are combined with services to support health, nutrition and other social service needs. Parent involvement is critical in the Head Start model. Parents are engaged in the decision making process for the program through committee involvement, are educated on child development stages and connected with community resources.
