Driver services - Rsvp recruits volunteer drivers to use their own vehicles to provide transportation to elderly and/or handicapped residents of Dane County and home delivered meals to homebound elderly outside the city of Madison. This program helped 2,056 elderly people and veterans of all ages maintain their independence by providing 9,378 rides and delivering 86,803 meals. Through Rsvp's vets helping vets program, veterans are recruited as volunteer drivers to serve veterans and their family members. Veterans who are unable to drive can receive a ride from a fellow veteran volunteer driver who understands some of the problems that younger veterans are facing. 611 unduplicated volunteers served in this program during the year.
