About
Milwaukee Community Service Corps, Inc. (MCSC) provides participants with hands on work experience, academic instruction and life skills to anyone 18 and older. Participants work on environmental and revitalizing projects in Milwaukee, WI. Since 2004, MCSC has completed the production of nearly 12,000 rain barrels that have been distributed to local homeowners to reduce the impact of runoff into Milwaukee waterways. MCSC has also been instrumental in the removal of the algea build up along the Milwaukee beaches of Lake Michigan. MCSC has also retrofitted and made more energy efficient improvements of older housing stock of Milwaukee, the remediation of brownfield properties, as well as elimination of contamination from hazardous waste. MCSC instructs and trains participants to be able to work safely with hazardous materials, install solar and other green technologies in homes qualifying as installation technicians and residential energy auditors.
