PROGRAM - EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGSMNHPC PROVIDES EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS AS WELL AS CONSUMERS. IN 2019 MNHPC PROVIDED CONTINUING EDUCATION TO OVER 1,000 PROFESSIONALS OVER TWO-AND-ONE HALF-DAYS DURING OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE. WE ALSO EDUCATED OVER 700 MEMBERS OF THE BROADER COMMUNITY DURING OUR SPRING SYMPOSIUM WHICH IS AN EVENT DESIGNED TO CONVENE INDIVIDUALS TO DISCUSS MATTERS OF DEATH AND LIFE. IN AUGUST 2019, MNHPC BROUGHT OVER 100 HOSPICE ADMINISTRATORS TOGETHER TO RECEIVE IN DEPTH REGULATORY AND POLICY TRAINING. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, MNHPC HOSTS WEEKLY WEBINARS COVERING A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS OF INTEREST TO HOSPICE PROFESSIONALS. THROUGH THE WEBINARS, MNHPC REACHES APPROXIMATELY 1,000 STAFF EACH YEAR. PROGRAM - LIVE WELL AT HOME PART IIMNHPC RECEIVED A LIVE WELL AT HOME GRANT THROUGH THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO PROVIDE BASIC AND INTERMEDIATE LEVEL TRAINING ON CORE HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE TOPICS SUCH AS ADVANCE CARE PLANNING, PROVIDER ORDERS FOR LIFE SUSTAINING TREATMENT, HOSPICE, PALLIATIVE CARE, AND VETERAN'S BENEFITS. EDUCATIONAL CONTENT FOR IN-PERSON AND ONLINE TRAININGS WERE DEVELOPED. MNHPC PROVIDED IN-PERSON EDUCATION TO 80 INDIVIDUALS. MNHPC ALSO FINALIZED AN E-COURSE TITLED, THE BASICS OF SERIOUS ILLNESS AND END-OF-LIFE CARE. THE E-COURSE IS PROVIDED IN FOUR LANGAUGES: ENGLISH, SOMALI, HMONG, AND SPANISH. PROGRAM - RESOURCES DEVELOPMENTMNHPC CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN A WEBSITE THAT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO MNHPC MEMBERS WHO ARE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS, AS WELL AS CONSUMER BASED INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS, FAMILIES AND CAREGIVERS. RESOURCES FOR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS INCLUDE INFORMATION ABOUT REGULATIONS, POLICIES AND BEST PRACTICES. INFOMATION FOR CONSUMERS INCLUDES A HOSPICE CONSUMER GUIDE, FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, INFORMATIONAL VIDEOS DESIGNED TO BE CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY APPROPRIATE, HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE DIRECTORIES, AND INFORMATION ABOUT PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE.
