Mneep Is Organized To Increase The Success Of Minnesota Students Of Color In Minnesota Schools, Colleges And Universities. Mneep Consists Of Fourteen Education Institution Partners Who Include All Of Minnesota's Public And Private Education Systems, The Minneapolis And Saint Paul Public Schools, And Several Suburban And Rural School Districts. BUILDING EQUITABLE SCHOOL COMMUNITIES & CAPACITY OF LEADERS TO LEAD WITH EQUITY LENS (REEEN): MNEEP SOUGHT TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES TO PURSUE EQUITY GOALS BY PROVIDING LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR BOTH HEADS OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND FOR PARENTS, STUDENTS AND CIVIC ACTIVISTS. THIS OVERALL GOAL IS SUPPORTED THROUGH DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING:1. SUPPORTED THE MILLE LACS REGION "PROMISE TO ACT" COLLABORATIVE BY FUNDING A LOCAL EQUITY CHAMPION AND ON-GOING ADVISORY MEETING SUPPORT (MADE UP OF SCHOOL LEADERS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS, FAMILIES).2. HELD A MILLE LACS REGION YOUTH SUMMIT WITH OVER 30 YOUTH FROM ALL 3 DISTRICTS IMPORTANT CONVERSATION ON YOUTH DREAMS FOR EQUITY IN EDUCATION AND GREATER SUPPORT OF THEIR LOCAL EDUCATORS.3. HELD A MILLE LACS REGION EDUCATION EQUITY DINNER AND DIALOGUE WITH OVER 40 COMMUNITY ATTENDEES REVIEWING IMPACT OF RACIAL BIAS IN CONVERSATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY EXPLORING NEED FOR MORE EDUCATION EQUITY DEVELOPMENT IN THE LOCAL SCHOOL COMMUNITY.4. SUCCESSFULLY CONVENED A 2-DAY SUPERINTENDENTS' SYMPOSIUM OF OVER 30 E-12 SUPERINTENDENTS FROM ACROSS THE STATE TO ADD TO THEIR RACE EQUITY LEADERSHIP "SKILL AND WILL". THE SYMPOSIUM COVERED INSTITUTIONAL RACISM, GOVERNANCE AND MESSAGING FOR THEIR DISTRICT'S COMMUNITIES.5. CONDUCTED A RACE EQUITY WORKSHOP AT THE MN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BUSINESS OFFICIALS (MASBO).6. CONDUCTED A RACE EQUITY WORKSHOP AT THE MINNESOTA SCHOOL PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION (MNSPRA) ANNUAL MEETING.
