Mission
Heart of Compassion was formed in 2003, to be a Lighthouse to those in need. We are a Food Bank, a job training and certification center and place for the community to give back. We are 100% volunteer based nonprofit organization. We impact Seniors, Veterans, Single Parents, Homeless and the working poor. Heart of Compassion is a Master Distributor to Food Banks and Homeless Shelters throughout Los Angeles County. Since the beginning of 2020, 17.3 million pounds of food have been distributed to residents, surpassing 2019’s total of 16.7 million pounds of food distributed. Based on distributions completed thus far, we are estimating the total food distributed in 2020 will exceed 23 million pounds, a 38% increase compared to 2019.
