About
In response to the urgent need, Beacon Hill infuses accelerated, in-school literacy tutoring for kindergarten to 5th grade students in some of the lowest performing elementary schools in the Dallas area. Each child receives 3 hours of tutoring at the home campus for 30 weeks for a total of 60-90 hours per child. Tutoring is provided by trained teachers at a 1:3 teacher/student ratio using proven, structured curriculum. Each school is provided with a Beacon Hill Literacy Lab where trained volunteers assist teachers and read to the children under the "Reading Tree." The In-School Tutoring Program is supported and enhanced through Educate Now, which gathers the community to change the lives of children and provides more comprehensive services to the school.
