The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery is committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect and provides emergency intervention, respite care and support to families in crisis through: short-term care for young children in a safe and nurturing environment, help families to resolve crisis, ongoing follow-up support and education to families, community outreach and awareness, advocacy. The crisis nursery provides immediate crisis intervention; therapeutic respite care for children at high risk for abuse; strength-based, trauma-informed counseling; and individualized case management for families. Services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at five nursery locations and 10 outreach centers throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles' regions and are free of charge.

The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery provides crisis care for children, birth through age 12, whose families are experiencing a crisis. Children are provided 24-hour care, food, clothing, medical exam, developmental assessment, therapeutic activities and basic supplies to take home.
