Mission
Community LINC's mission is to end homelessness in Kansas City for this generation and the next. For over 35 years, Community LINC has transformed the lives of Greater Kansas City’s homeless households and families we serve through our housing programs and services. Our three, evidence-based housing programs seek to address the underlying causes of homelessness and equip participants with the skills necessary to stabilize, remain housed and self-sufficient, and never experience homelessness again.

Designed for moderate barrier families, the interim housing program serves people that need time to stabilize. Each family receives a fully furnished on-campus apartment at no cost with utilities paid until they transition into permanent housing. Families work with financial coaches, save money, and reduce debt to stabilize for their transition. All children participate in resiliency classes and receive academic support and group engagement activities. Permanent housing goals include: meeting with a housing coordinator and family coach to address housing barriers, such as bad credit, landlord judgments, and past-due utility bills. These services enable families to stabilize and transition into permanent housing.
