More about this organization
Mission
Badger Prairie Needs Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty, ending hunger, and addressing the root causes of generational poverty in the communities it serves. BPNN operates one of the busiest food pantries in Dane County, provides a community meal twice a month, offers legal advocacy, career development opportunities, nutrition education, and collaborates with local social workers to help families in need.
About
In 2018, we provided food assistance to an average of 1200 individuals each month translating to over 490,000 meals and over 13,000 people served over the 12 month period. Most of the 3,700 households we served included at least one person working for wages (68%). The rest were individuals with disabilities, senior citizens on fixed incomes, and folks that had simply fallen on tough times. Almost half (42%) of the people we served were children. Two-thirds of the individuals served (and 85% of the children) live in Fitchburg's poverty-plagued neighborhoods along the 18/151 corridor.
