About
Elder Club. JFS offers an engaging and upbeat program for older adults who may have physical limitations and/or mild to moderate memory challenges and may be isolated with limited opportunities for social interaction. The Elder Club provides participants with a wide range of activities, ability-appropriate exercise, and nutritious meals prepared on-site. Peer socialization and friendship are enjoyed in a safe group setting with professional facilitation and support. At the same time, family caregivers receive much-needed respite to attend to their own needs. The Elder Club program has been active for 20 years. In November 2016 JFS expanded the program to add a location in Hendersonville. Between July 2018 and June 2019, JFS Elder Club provided 1073 client-days of socialization and support for 35 individuals. Fifty-one percent of Elder Club members received scholarships to pay for their attendance.
