Mission

Truckers Against Trafficking is a national non-profit that exists to educate, equip, empower and mobilize the trucking, bus and energy industry to combat human trafficking as part of their regular jobs. OUR GOALS Make the TAT training DVD, wallet cards (and other materials) a regular part of training/orientation for members of the trucking industry so that when they suspect human trafficking is taking place they can call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) at 1-888-3737-888 and report what they know. Partner with law enforcement to facilitate the investigation of human trafficking. Marshal the resources of the trucking industry to combat this crime.

THE INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAM IS TAT'S CORE PROGRAM THAT DRIVES THE BIGGEST IMPACT BY TRAINING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF INDUSTRY MEMBERS ABOUT THE REALITIES OF DOMESTIC SEX TRAFFICKING AND HOW THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY CAN COMBAT IT. BY SPEAKING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, UTILIZING A ROBUST SOCIAL MEDIA PROGRAM, AND VIA OUR INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC MATERIALS, TAT PARTNERS WITH THE TRUCK, BUS, AND ENERGY INDUSTRIES, AS WELL AS SHIPPERS, MANUFACTURERS AND STATE AND NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN ORDER TO SPREAD THE WORD. TAT REPORTED CONDUCTING 163 PRESENTATIONS, WITH THEIR TOTAL CUMULATIVE NUMBER TRAINED AS 845,115, WITH 164,962 BECOMING TAT TRAINED IN 2019. THE CUMULATIVE TOTAL CALL COUNT INTO THE NATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING HOTLINE (SINCE TAT'S INCEPTION IN 2011), AT THE END OF DECEMBER 2019 WAS 2,496. THESE CALLS GENERATED 663 INCIDENCES OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING, INVOLVING 1230 VICTIMS. ALL 50 STATE TRUCKING ASSOCIATIONS HAVE NOW PARTNERED WITH TAT. 8,952 PEOPLE TOURED THE FREEDOM DRIVERS PROJECT AT 39 EVENTS IN 25 STATES IN 2019. IN ADDITION, 76,430 MEMBERS OF THE BUS INDUSTRY REGISTERED AS BOTL (BUSING ON THE LOOKOUT) TRAINED IN 2019. 556 PEOPLE IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY, REPRESENTING 91 COMPANIES RECEIVED TRAINING AT 10 ENERGY EVENTS. AND IN 2019, TAT REPORTS 185,254 PEOPLE FOLLOW THEM ON FACEBOOK, WITH 31,300 TWITTER FOLLOWERS AND 10,672 FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM.
