Accomplishments
- Vista academy - teach all 6,7,8th graders each week in character building through theatre at this underserved school. we run the drama and film club here which trains the middle schoolers in how to make film and edit. 423 kids served, 37 teachers served. weekly from sept - june: workshops and in-classroom teaching at public middle school, vista academy, east new york, brooklyn, nyc. we are the sole in-class art providers to this underserved yet heroic and extremely effective new middle school. we have been there since the start of this school and are part of their family. we run the drama club after school and go in to each class once a week in the entire school to make theatre out of the curriculum. grades 6-8. Expenses $0.
- High school for health professions - each week teach 5 classes and run the after school drama club and performance program at this underserved school. 220 teens served, 6 teachers served. weekly from sept- june: workshops and in-classroom teaching at public high school, high school for health professions, ny, ny. we run the drama club 5 hours per week and support mr. zachary rothman-hicks' sophomore and senior english classes as well as his elective stagecraft every week during the school year. grades 9-12. Expenses $0.
- Private workshops - 2 times per year in summer and winter we teach a tuition-free pre-professional theatre workshop for teens and young adults who are interested in not only acting, but professions of production, stage management, writing, directing. Expenses $0.
- Provide small scholarships and private coaching to help teens who have graduated out of our programs to stay in college and graduate with an associates or ba degree in a timely manner. scholarships help with books, living expenses, transportation, food, rent. coaching consists of helping with acting work as well as general tutoring. Expenses $4,300.
