Centro de Ayuda Legal para Imigrantes'(CALI) main mission since its creation was to provide quality legal representation to the low-income immigrant community. On May 2015, CALI opened a new office in Gilroy, California, to serve low income community living in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties. During fiscal year 2017, CALI began doing public service announcements on live TV and participating in community phone banking. It has been a part of CALI's mission to offer legal representation and community education to people who were brought into the country illegally at a very young age by their parents. (See Schedule O for description of additional programs) In a time with unprecedented anti-immigrant sentiment, CALI has made it part of its mission to further educate immigrants on their rights. During this last fiscal year, CALI held numerous clinics where free consultations were given to the members of the community. This was done to alleviate much of the fear that the immigrant community currently lives with.
