Mission
Promote and preserve the legacy of Slovenian-Americans through educational & cultural activities, including an educational museum, bimonthly heritage publication 'Zarja' and any activities to promote Slovenian culture and history.
About
Bimonthly heritage publication known as the Zarja has been continuously published since 1929. The magazine contains: information on up-coming events, president's report to members, list of new members, list of donations name and amount, various articles on various subjects submitted by members, activity at the heritage museum such as book donations to museum library, tributes to long to time members and branches, members donating for the 2015 annual convention, developing a heritage cookbook to be available at convention, genealogy on families, genealogy research resources, visits to Slovenia/villages and branch activity reports. Bonnie Prokup is the organizaiton's national president officer and is employed as the magazine's director of design. Debbie Prohar is the organization's national vp of outreach officer and is employed as the magazine's editor. Zarja translated to English is the dawn.
