About this organization

Cincinnati Union Cooperative Initiative partners with individuals and other organizations to develop worker-owned businesses which provide family-sustaining jobs and create an economy that works for all.
About
Co-op education & culture building. CUCI hosted the Union Co-op Symposium which drew over 200 people from around the country, to learn about the union co-op model. Nonprofit Quarterly described it as a 'watershed of sorts, as the union co-op idea is increasingly seen by both union and co-op activists as a vehicle for community transformation.' Also, CUCI published the worker owner workbook, a resource for people in worker co-ops. This year we also worked with a visual artist to develop a Mondragon co-op principles card game. We facilitated weekly team meetings and retreats with our co-op workers and boards, launched a 12 week program for co-op U for new co-ops development, continued to coordinate curriculum development for the 4-semester community college 1worker1vote co-op curriculum. We spoke at conferences and events around the country and hosted numerous visitors from other cities.
