Youth Equity Collaborative (YEC) -Momentum Alliance convenes a collaborative or 6 youth organizing programs including: MA (lead), OPAL Youth Environmental Justice Alliance, Multnomah Youth Commission, CAPACES TURNO, Latinos Unidos Siempre, and Oregon Student Association. The collaborative provides leadership opportunities for youth in Oregon to build a statewide youth-led intersectional social justice movement. YEC addresses the need for more multi-identity and multi-issue youth of color organizing across the state. Highlights:Connected a dozen youth of color to Get Out the Vote Campaign that contacted hundreds of thousands of youth voters (paid opportunity for youth) Paid each participating organization $5000 stipend. Helped other YEC members received $185,000 of funding for 2019 Jan - Dec 2020Sent 50 youth of color to the Oregon Students of Color Conference (free opportunity for youth) Hosted meetings for youth of color across Oregon to learn from each other and build relationships LEAD Cohort: Leading Equity to Achieve our Dreams, a leadership development cohort that seeks to build and develop leadership skills necessary to implement and create their own community organizing and social justice programming.
