Mission

Amy Seiwert's Imagery develops, promotes, and supports the work of contemporary performing artists through the creation of new works to be experienced by audiences of all ages and populations.

About

During an intensive 5-week rehearsal period choreographers Amy Seiwert, Ben Needham-Wood, and Chicago-based Stephanie Martinez each created a new ballet for the eight dancers of Amy Seiwert's Imagery. All three choreographers worked with their own video artists to incorporate projection in their work. In a bold move, they opted to eliminate the usual white scrim and used different surfaces for their projections. All three ballets were lit by lighting designer Brian Jones who created for a seamless blending of projection and lighting. Performances took place at ODC Theater, July 17-20, 2019. Programmatic activities - Sketch rehearsal - 5-week creative laboratory creating 3 ballets by 3 choreographers with 8 dancers - Sketch 9 | Origin Perspective. 4 performances ODC Theater, July 17-20, 2019 reached 630 people
