THE GOAL OF THE INDY HUNGER NETWORK IS TO CREATE A SYSTEM THAT ENSURES ANYONE WHO IS HUNGRY CAN ACCESS THE NUTRITIOUS FOOD THEY NEED.
About
COOKING MATTERS: COOKING MATTERS IS A SIX-WEEK COURSE THAT TEACHES BASIC COOKING SKILLS AND NUTRITION INFORMATION TO PEOPLE WHO ARE USING FOOD ASSISTANCE. THE CLASSES ARE DESIGNED TO HELP PARTICIPANTS LEARN HOW TO PREPARE HEALTHY MEALS AT HOME ON A LIMITED BUDGET. PARTICIPANTS MAKE A MEALS TOGETHER IN CLASS EACH WEEK AND TAKE HOME A BAG OF GROCERIES TO PREPARE THE SAME MEAL FOR THEIR FAMILIES. CLASSES ARE TAUGHT AT COMMUNITY CENTERS, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, DAY CARE CENTERS, AND FOOD PANTRIES ACROSS MARION COUNTY.
