Mission

New City School is an independent Christian school offering a high quality education of mind and soul to all children of Harrisburg regardless of faith commitment or financial means.

About

New City Schools primarily serves low-income families in Harrisburg, PA. In September 2016, we opened our doors with a preschool program for three-year-olds and young four-year-olds, three mornings a week. This program was free of charge and, in keeping with our by-laws, 70% of our students were from low-income households. Students were provided with a play-based curriculum designed to prepare them for a kindergarten-readiness program or for kindergarten itself. Two of our students enrolled in kindergarten; six other students re-enrolled in New City School for the fall of 2017. For the 2017-2018 class, 20 students are enrolled. For the 2018-2019 school year, 27 students are enrolled.
