See Schedule ORenown South Meadows Medical Center is a 76-bed hospital that offers the latest in medical and surgical care, intensive care, telemetry, a 24-hour emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgical and lab services. Renown South Meadows provides a wide range of healthcare services to the south Reno and Washoe Valley communities regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age or ability to pay. Renown South Meadows has around 500 physicians on its medical staff and extends privileges on its medical staff to all eligible and qualified physicians. Since it opened as an acute care hospital in 2002, Renown South Meadows has doubled its bed capacity by expanding the intensive care, surgical and telemetry units. Renown South Meadows is also the local home of endoscopic ultrasound. This technology, applied with skillful hands, has helped diagnose and treat digestive diseases in thousands of patients. Renown South Meadows has earned eight times since 2010, the honor of the HealthInsight Quality Award for high performance on quality-of-care outcome measures and patient satisfaction.Renown South Meadows houses physician offices in the medical pavilion located on its campus. The hospital provides the use of its facility to more than 20 healthcare activity and support groups. These include events that involve nursing students, senior healthcare, and obesity education. South Meadows also donates meeting space to more than a dozen community groups, including local law-enforcement agencies and service organizations.Renown South Meadows supports Partners in Education through activities with Double Diamond Elementary and Damonte Ranch High School.Renown Rehabilitation Hospital is a 62-bed, inpatient rehabilitation environment focusing on care that prepares patients to live as independently as possible after experiencing a disabling injury or illness.Renown Rehabilitation Hospital has the highest concentration of Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses in northern Nevada. Rehabilitation nurses provide comfort, therapy and education, promote health-conducive adjustments, support adaptive capabilities and promote achievable independence. During fiscal year 2019, there was only one other inpatient acute rehabilitation facility in Northern Nevada. Renown South Meadows and Renown Rehabilitation Hospital are governed by a board of community members, the majority of who live in our primary service area and who are neither employees or independent contractors or family members. All surplus funds are retained in the organization to make improvements in patient care. For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, Renown South Meadows, along with its parent, Renown Health and its subsidiaries, provided more than $158 million in benefit to the community (using community benefit numbers gathered by the Nevada Hospital Association using state-approved criteria to ensure consistency).
