To serve as a neighborhood watch for the Rockaway, NY area; to assist with safety issues of the region by organizing search and rescue missions; to secure the area and act as a crime deterrent; and to assist the NYPD by serving as the eyes and ears of the Rockaway Peninsula.
About
RCSP operates safety patrols, acts as an liaison between the NYPD and the community of Far Rockaway. They support police activity, serve as translators when needed, assist NYPD in sharing information within the community and raising awareness of the diverse cultural spectrum of Far Rockaway. Expenses include radios to volunteers to communicate with the command center, request ambulances, alert NYPD as well as uniforms for volunteers to wear while on official business for RCSP.
