Mission

CSforALLs mission is to make high-quality computer science an integral part of the educational experience of all K-12 students and teachers in the United States and to support student pathways to college and career success.

About

In partnership with the NYC Department of Education, the organization completed the third year of a 10-year, $80 million initiative to bring computer science education to 100% of local public schools. The initiative, called Computer Science for All (CS4All), is a public-private partnership between CSforALL and the City of New York and the NYC Department of Education. By 2025, all New York City public school students will receive at least one meaningful, high-quality computer science learning experience at each school level: elementary, middle, and high school. The centerpiece of the initiative is the training of 4,775 teachers who will, by Year 10, bring computer science to more than 245,000 students each year.CSforALL is focused on school districts as an important unit of change for rigorous, inclusive, and sustainable computer science education. The SCRIPT supports systems-level change by addressing five key areas: (1) Leadership, (2) Teacher Capacity and Development, (3) Curriculum and Materials Selection and Refinement, (4) Partners, and (5) Community. During the 2017 calendar year, CSforALL engaged over 30 school districts from across the country in a process to create plans for CS education. The CSforALL Summit is an annual convening of the national K-12 computer science education community. The 2017 summit was held at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and featured commitments from more than 170 organizations from every sector to make CS learning a reality for all students in the United States. In addition, 400 leaders gathered in person to announce these commitments, celebrate progress, and chart the path ahead. http://summit.csforall.org
