Youth development. CYI provides opportunities and support for youth to engage in educational, economic, character building, and service experiences. Youth development programs include Service Corps, which is designed to build life, leadership and work-readiness skills, encourage meaningful service and promote civic engagement among 8th to 12th grade students; and Trek, which is an environmental awareness and leadership development program for students in 4th to 6th grade to camp, hike and canoe along the Brandywine River. These programs are funded by foundations and individual donors.
