WE CHARTER AIRCRAFT AND LEAVE FROM STEWART INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN NEWBURGH, NY AS WELL AS WESTCHESTER COUNTY AIRPORT IN WHITE PLAINS, NY WITH VETERANS TO VISIT WASHINGTON, DC MULTIPLE TIMES ANNUALLY. THIS ACTIVITY IS PERFORMED BY VOLUNTEERS/GUARDIANS.WE ARE A LOCAL HUB OF THE NATIONAL HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK (WHICH CONSISTS OF OVER 100 INDEPENDENT NON-PROFIT "HUBS" ACROSS AMERICA). EACH OF THESE HUBS IS REQUIRED TO BE INDEPENDENT OF THE NATIONAL NETWORK AND RECEIVE THEIR OWN TAX EXEMPT STATUS FROM THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE.HVHF SERVES: ORANGE, ULSTER, SULLIVAN, WESTCHESTER, ROCKLAND, PUTNAM, DUTCHESS, PIKE, AND FAIRFIELD COUNTIES OF NEW YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, AND CONNECTICUT. WE ALSO CONSIDER SERVING VETERANS FROM SURROUNDING COUNTIES AS WELL. THIS COVERS THE ENTIRE AREA OF NEW YORK'S HUDSON VALLEY FROM NEW YORK CITY TO THE SOUTH, TO ALBANY TO THE NORTH. FIRST PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO WORLD WAR II VETERANS BUT WE ALSO ACCEPT VETERANS FROM THE KOREAN WAR AS WELL AS TERMINALLY ILL VETERANS FROM OTHER WARS. WE PLAN TO TAKE ALL VETERANS FROM OTHER WARS ON FUTURE FLIGHTS. WE DEPART STEWART INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND WESTCHESTER COUNTY AIRPORT FOR A SEND-OFF CEREMONY AND RETURN HOME TO A HERO'S WELCOME. THIS AMAZING ONE-DAY TRIP HAS A UNIQUE ITINERARY DESIGNED TO GIVE OUR VETERANS THE COMPLETE HONOR FLIGHT EXPERIENCE.
