About
Greenwich International Film Festival took place May 29th to June 2nd and featured over 50 international and domestic films, 4 thought-provoking panels, and networking receptions. The festival attracted 10,000 attendees and brought to the attention of the public important issues related to basic human rights, education, the environment and health care. Changemaker Gala for 300 VIP guests honored humanitarians Eva Longoria Baston (founder, Eva Longoria Foundation) and Bobby Walker (CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich). The event raised $120,000 for their charities. Epic anniversary party for 1,200 people at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, celebrated GIFF's five year anniversary. Actress & humanitarian Connie Nielsen served as head of the social impact jury and helped to announce the film awards. $25,000 in cash awards were given to filmmakers at that event. Kesha performed a concert during the celebration, which was televised in part by ABC-TV. A portion of proceeds went to benefit the human needs project.
