Mission

The mission of Maryland Pesticide Education Network (MPEN) is to: - encourage the adoption of pest and land management practices that are safe for children, adults, wildlife and the environment, including the Chesapeake Bay, - promote right-to-know policies and laws regarding pesticide use, exposures and impacts, - educate the public, policymakers, pest and land care management professionals, health care and public health professionals, waterkeepers, the agricultural community, and others about the hazards of pesticide exposure and safer alternatives, - promote programs, policies and laws that reduce or eliminate reliance on hazardous pesticides, and - work collaboratively with local, state and federal agencies and private organizations to promote the above objectives.

Maryland Pesticide Education Network's (MPEN) mission is to protect the public, wildlife and the environment from pesticide hazards and promote safer alternatives. MPEN addresses pesticide-related impacts and implements programs and strategies to reduce and eliminate adverse impacts of pesticides on people, pollinators and other wildlife, the food supply and Chesapeake Bay.
