Northeast Claiborne Charter School is an open-enrollment type 2 charter school authorized by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). NECC students will receive educational services from the Junction City School District through an interagency agreement. Students who reside in Claiborne Parish, Union Parish and other parishes in Louisiana may apply for admission to NECC. The school educated 180 students during its 2018-2019 school year. Northeast Claiborne Charter engages its students daily in rigorous learning experiences that build on students' talents, challenges their skills and understandings, and develops their abilities to reason, problem solve, collaborate and communicate. The students are given the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning and focus their thinking to become productive and contributing members of the school community. The school challenges their students to complete complex texts and problems, construct viable arguments, and persist until solutions are identified and substantiated.
