Mission

LaunchCode is building a skilled workforce by creating pathways for driven people seeking careers in technology. We provide people with economic opportunity and upwardly mobile careers through equitable access to free tech training and paid tech apprenticeships. LaunchCode knows that while talent is evenly distributed, opportunity is not. We identify talented, driven individuals who lack the traditional credentials for a job in technology and offer mentorship and education programs to prepare them for full-time employment. We then place graduates into paid apprenticeships with a broad range of employers. Once placed with an employer partner, over 85% of apprentices convert to full-time employment following on-the-job learning.

Launchcode increases economic opportunity and upward mobility by placing driven individuals into technology apprenticeships and jobs based on aptitude, professionalism, and skills. In 2018, we worked with hundreds of companies and education partners to help our candidates overcome traditional barriers to employment such as formal degrees or years of job experience, placing 344 individuals into apprenticeships or permanent jobs in technology. In pursuit of this goal, Launchcode received substantial in-kind support (rent, consulting, accounting and legal services, mentoring, digital marketing and software licenses for apprenticeship candidates) valued at $588,669.
