Mission
Curious Learning (CL) is a nonprofit organization that enables children to read. We curate, localize, optimize and distribute smartphone technology based literacy solutions, designed to work for children regardless of their proximity to schools. There is a growing body of evidence illustrating that children can learn to read from mobile apps. CL is enabling a smartphone based app learning ecosystem, and curating a set of open-source learning apps that provide a path to literacy in 50+ languages. We work with organizations around the world to localize and distribute these apps with schools and parents.
About
Curious Learning began partnerships to develop a new personalized learning product to allow children to explore a personalized collection of literacy apps from any Android device. Curious Learning also piloted the localization of open source literacy games into English, Spanish and Kiswahili. Overall, the team reached thousands of new learners with mobile-app based early learning games and set the stage for localization to more than 50 languages in 2018.
