- Shark allies served as the representative for 80 conservation organizations and more than 20,000 individuals that are members and followers of our cause. our documentaries and public service announcements reach thousands of people every year. our awareness campaigns aim to educate the public about the role of sharks in the health of the ocean and encourage consumers to reduce their purchase of shark products. shark allies helps develop better conservation measures and advocates for regulations that protect shark populations from overfishing. a big part of the awareness campaigns is the creation of visual media, such as public service announcements and short documentaries that promote a positive image of sharks, tv interviews and magazine articles. several times a year we conduct first hand experiences, where we bring divers together with shark experts and scientists in shark diving locations.the long-term goal is to bring the public's knowledge of sharks and awareness of conservation measures to a level that will create a reversal of the current overexploitation of sharks, and to bring the us closer to having effective practices in place to bring about a recovery of shark populations. use of funding:- to conduct research and data mining to build an accurate assessment of the fin trade- to network and meet with researchers, scientists and policy experts- organize and host awareness events- to create outreach and educational materials that inform the public- to participate in conventions and present our program at trade showsmost professional services are provided to us by volunteers or on a pro-bono level. therefore, only a small portion of our funding goes to:- advertising and pr- professional consultation and services (video production, event organization, legal services and consultation, fundraising promotions) Expenses $0.
