About
CIERTO'S MOST SIGNIFICANT PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2017 WAS THE RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING OF 80 FARMWORKERS TO FARMS IN CALIFORNIA FOR THE STRAWBERRY HARVEST DURING THE MONTHS OF MARCH 2017 TO NOVEMBER 2017. THIS WAS THE SECOND H2A PROCESS THAT CIERTO HAS CONDUCTED AND FURTHER DEMONSTRATED WE WERE ABLE TO BEGIN TO PROVE OUR CONCEPT OF CLEAN RECRUITMENT, TRAINING FARMWORKERS AND EVALUATING OUR RECRUITMENT MODEL. THROUGHOUT THIS SECOND PROCESS WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A DIALOGUE WITH WORKERS, MANAGEMENT AND FARM OWNERSHIP. THIS HELPED TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN OUR MODEL. WE CONDUCTED EVALUATIONS WITH WORKERS TO DETERMINE HOW WE CAN IMPROVE OUR TRAINING AND RECRUITMENT PRACTICES WITH THE PURPOSE OF BENEFITTING FARMWORKERS WHO COME TO HARVEST CROPS FOR THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. WE ALSO MADE SURE FARMWORKERS UNDERSTOOD THEIR TRAINING, EVALUATED HOW TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THEM MOVING OUT OF POVERTY, CREATING A MORE STABLE LABOR MARKET, AND HELPING TO EMPOWER THEM BY IMPROVING THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYERS ("GROWERS") AND OTHER HIGH-LEVEL ACTORS IN THE INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY. FROM THIS H2A RECRUITMENT, CIERTO HAS BEEN ABLE TO SEEK OTHER CONTRACTS AND GROW ITS PROGRAM TO SERVICE VARIOUS FARMS AND ENSURE IN ALL OF ITS AREAS OF WORK, CIERTO HAS ENSURED THAT ITS RECRUITMENT PRACTICES HAVE BEEN VERIFIED AND ARE ABSENT OF FRAUD, TRAFFICKING, DEBT PEONAGE, SLAVERY, AND OTHER PROBLEMS.
