Amanda W. Lockey Foundation (Foundation) is committed to advancing scientific and medical research to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine (NET) cancer and other forms of cancer. During 2019, the foundation continued to provide financial support for promising cancer treatment trials at the University of Kentucky - Markey Cancer Center. The Markey Cancer Center NET research program (MNRP) reported in 2019 that the incidence of NETs is on the rise. It ranks fourth now in the US in the prevalence of solid tumors. The foundation's continued support has allowed major accomplishments for the MNRP. MNRP had the maximum number of NET research abstracts from any single institute (worldwide) at both NANETS 2018 and ASCO 2019. The foundation was excited to commit to funding a new clinical trial for MNRP. This new phase I trial will be funding PARP inhibitor+ PRRT research. The first institute on the world to test this therapy, an idea discovered by Dr. Anthony and his team! The foundation is looking forward to helping find a cure for pancreatic NET cancer!
