About
Involvement in Utah's educational programs: Our creative reuse STEAM programs were embraced by 13 different elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Utah in 2019. Workshops were taught and 650+ pounds of materials were distributed at three art education conferences to 600+ participants. Free & paid programs and investment in our Utah communities: COI partnered with 29 organizations in 2019 to provide programming and participation in presentations regarding waste-stream diversion and opportunities for creative reuse in our communities. COI began offering onsite creative reuse workshops for youth and adults each month. COI waste-stream diversion program: Through our waste-stream diversion program, we doubled our diversion intake from 22,000 lbs to over 40,000 lbs. In 2019 we began offering mini-grants to non-profit organizations and schools in the form of materials. This program provided needed supplies to 32 non-profit organizations in our community. Clever Octopus had 215 volunteers that gave 8,320 volunteer hours valued at $25.43 totaling $211,578 of value that are not reported on the 990 form.
