Improve health: Sedgwick County has been chosen by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as one of seven communities in the state to receive a portion of their CDC award for chronic disease prevention and health promotion (1422 grant). The grant funds are provided to address education and prevention interventions for the chronic conditions of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and stroke and to reduce health disparities in these areas among adults.
