School - provide education to 80 students in the 2017-18 academic year. Our dedicated lab environment enables us to apply action-research, gather feedback, and co-create programs in collaboration with researchers, teachers, and middle school students. SEL research indicates these whole-student practices lead to greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and an increased sense of security and connection with peers. Relative to other independent schools, we continue to build a far more diverse class; more than 30% of our budget goes to scholarships versus a 12% in the field. Our enrollment represents 50% students of color and 50% of students on some kind of financial assistance.
