The Commander Robert E. Lando Patriotic Education Association, Inc. is being formed to honor the late American naval officer, who was a longtime member of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW). He was dedicated to the non-profit organizations' missions of cherishing the memory of those who have served our nation; promoting patriotic education; supporting the ideals of leadership and community service in our high schools and colleges; defending the honor, integrity, and supremacy of our national government; and to pass these ideas on to posterity. As a longtime high school educator in SF, Robert Lando was devoted to the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program (JROTC) and set aside a generous portion of his estate to support it in high schools in SF Bay Area. This association is being established to ensure that those funds set aside by Commander Lando are used to benefit youth in the manner that he intended.
