Reintegra was founded by Lorena and German Villar in 2012. The organization has offices in Colorado, Texas, Mexico City, and Costa Rica. They educate the public and advocate for survivors by sharing survivor stories and providing scholarships and grants for two safe houses. The safe houses in Mexico City and Costa Rica help rehabilitate survivors and provide financial, emotional, and psychological support.

Accomplishments

  • In 2019, reintegra continued the monthly support and funding for seven survivors of human trafficking. we also provide support for their holistic care to help them become independent. two of these women and one survivor that we had been supporting from 2015-2018, moved to independence this year and no longer receive funding from our organization. one of the 8 women we supported in 2019 is working on her masters in business administration, one is working on a masters in law and a third is working on a masters in nonprofit administration. one started a program at a vocational school. Expenses $88,933.
  • In 2019, our executive director was a presenter at the global sustainability network conference in mexico city and one of the survivors we support was a featured lecturer at the conference on world affairs in boulder, colorado. recipients of reintegra grants spoke on behalf of advocacy in 2019 in other locations in the us, mexico and europe. Expenses $1,254.
